Communion is open to all at Faith United Methodist Church.  Communion is an invitation from Jesus Christ.  As the United Methodist ritual states, "Christ our Lord invites all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another." We do not refuse any who desires to receive communion.  Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month.  Methodists believe that the bread and juice signify the body and blood of Christ who becomes present to us through our shared prayer and remembrance of His death and resurrection for the healing and saving of the world.  You are invited to come to the communion rail to receive communion, and you may stand or kneel at the rail in prayer after receiving communion.  If you are unable to come to the communion rail, the minister will serve you where you are.

Baptism is the sacrament of initiation that joins us with the church and with Christians everywhere.  It symbolizes new life and a promise of God's saving love, and a sign of God's forgiveness of our sins.  Both infants and adults can be baptized.  The United Methodist Church recognizes that baptism is a sacrament of God's grace, and it should not be repeated.  However, the church does offer the ritual of reaffirmation of baptismal vows for anyone who desires to recommit their lives to Christ and His church through the symbols of baptism.

Prior to scheduling a baptism, Pastor Jodie Harless will want to meet with you and/or the family.  It is not necessary to be a member of Faith United Methodist Church or any Methodist church to be baptized.  If you are interested in being baptized, having an infant/child baptized or simply wanting to learn more about baptism, please contact Pastor Jodie Harless at mailto:pastorjodie@kci.net or 970-522-0140 or (970)466-4598.

Everyone is invited into membership at Faith United Methodist Church (FUMC).  Those who choose to join the church will make sacred commitments to God and the church and receive the welcome of the congregation and its commitment to help you grow in your faith.  You will have the opportunity to reject evil and repent of your sin, accept the power of God to resist evil and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves, profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and embrace your place in the church universal and in our congregation by a pledge to: "Faithfully participate in the ministries of the church by your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness."**
